Shahar Avakeshka Tallit

This tallit weaves together two powerful texts from the Shabbat morning service: Shahar Avakeshka (��At Dawn I Seek You��), a piyut about the darkness of early morning giving way to light, and Hakol Yodukha (��All Will Thank You��), a prayer describing the sky��s windows opening. The artist reflects that in the context of Nishmat, the breath of all living things. Both texts are combined as alternating dark and light lines, with space between two sections meant to resemble a window or gate, or maybe an eye, that opens at dawn as we awake and breathe in the morning air.

Please note: There is natural variation in the purplish tone of the blue ink. Sometimes it��s a bit darker, sometimes lighter. Both variations are equally beautiful and part of the tallit's unique charm.
